Ethical Trading

1. Purpose
This policy sets out Slick Gorilla’s commitment to conducting business ethically, responsibly, and in compliance with UK legislation and internationally recognised labour standards. It applies to all employees, suppliers, contractors, and business partners.

2. Standards of Conduct

a. Employment is Freely Chosen: No forced, bonded, or involuntary labour. Workers are free to leave employment with reasonable notice.
b. Freedom of Association & Collective Bargaining: Workers have the right to join or form trade unions and to bargain collectively. Where this is restricted by law, alternative means of representation are supported.
c. Safe & Hygienic Working Conditions: A safe, healthy workplace will be provided, meeting or exceeding UK health and safety laws. Adequate training, protective equipment, and welfare facilities will be available.
d. Child Labour: No recruitment of child labour. Young workers (16–18) must not be employed in hazardous conditions or night shifts.
e. Wages & Benefits: Wages meet or exceed legal minimums and industry standards. No unlawful deductions: payslips are clear and transparent. Overtime is voluntary and compensated.
f. Working Hours: Working hours comply with the UK Working Time Regulations (1998). Overtime must not exceed limits set by law and must not be excessive.
g. No Discrimination: Employment decisions will not discriminate based on gender, age, race, disability, religion, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic under the Equality Act 2010.
h. Regular Employment: Work is based on recognised employment relationships, not exploitative arrangements. No use of false apprenticeship schemes or excessive use of zero-hours contracts.
i. No Harsh or Inhumane Treatment: Physical abuse, threats, harassment, or intimidation are strictly prohibited.

3. Environment & Sustainability
Commitment to reducing environmental impact through sustainable sourcing, waste reduction, and energy efficiency. Suppliers are expected to comply with UK environmental laws and work toward minimising their ecological footprint.

4. Anti-Bribery & Corruption
Zero tolerance of bribery, corruption, or unethical business practices. Compliance with the UK Bribery Act 2010.

5. Supply Chain Expectations
Suppliers must cascade these standards to their own suppliers. Slick Gorilla Ltd reserves the right to audit suppliers and take corrective action for non-compliance.

6. Reporting & Compliance
Employees and suppliers are encouraged to report concerns confidentially. Slick Gorilla Ltd will investigate and address any breaches of this Code of Conduct. Non-compliance may result in termination of contracts or employment.

7. Commitment
Slick Gorilla Ltd is committed to continuous improvement in ethical trading practices and will review this policy annually to ensure it remains relevant, effective, and aligned with UK and international standards.
